William is a multidisciplinary Australian-Japanese creative based in London. Working across photography, illustration, and radio, he contributes actively to East London’s audiophile and music communities.
After completing dual master’s degrees in Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia, William developed a strong technical and visual foundation while assisting acclaimed architectural photographer Sam Noonan. He later joined Matthews Architects as a Graduate of Architecture, while continuing to develop his photographic practice. During this period he also published and exhibited True Colour, a collaborative photographic book produced alongside four South Australian photographers.
William’s background in design and hospitality, combined with a lifelong passion for sound, brought him to London in 2023, where he joined the Brilliant Corners group. There he worked across both hospitality and visual documentation at the Japanese restaurant and jazz bar mu, before going on to manage Idle Moments, a wine and record shop partnered with Tokyo’s Vinyl Delivery Service.
In 2024, William co-founded NoNations Studio, an international online music channel connecting creative communities between London and Tokyo. Recorded and filmed in his East London flat, the project hosts intimate listening sessions where local selectors perform curated vinyl mixes in relaxed listening environments. Alongside this work, he collaborates on community-focused projects with labels and organisations including Time Capsule Sounds and Jazzy Sport London.
William continues to explore the relationship between design, sound, and social space through photography, broadcasting, and community-driven cultural projects.
